International Engine of the Year Announced

The 2009 International Engine of the Year awards were just announced. The competition is organized by Engine Technology International, and the judges are 65 motoring journalists from around the globe.

Among the winners are:

International Engine of the Year--Volkswagen 1.4-litre TSI Twincharger

Best New Engine of the Year--Porsche 3.8-litre Flat Six

Green Engine of the Year--Volkswagen 1.4-litre TSI Twincharger

Best Performance Engine--Mercedes-AMG 6.2-litre

Just what the world needs, a 3.8-litre Flat Six or just a plain old 6.2 liter engine for passenger vehicles...

It would be good if people with more money than good sense could find other, less wasteful ways to stroke their egos. Maybe if they just used the money for male or female escorts instead their egos would be better mollified?
