So what jobs might President Obama's stimulus plan create?
According to an FAQ article by the Associated Press:
"
If it works as planned, the stimulus will create thousands of jobs for building and repairing roads, bridges and other infrastructure. But it also aims to boost employment in the manufacturing, information technology and energy sectors, among others. "
The $103 billion allocated to infrastructure repairs will create about 670,000 construction jobs, by the end of 2010 Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody's Economy.com, told the AP.
"
But other types of companies — including steel makers, concrete and cement companies, and glass, rubber and plastics manufacturers — will also gain thousands of jobs, according to a study financed by the Alliance for American Manufacturing. "
Zandi notes, however, that Obama's plan won't necessarily save jobs. Rather, it will reduce the number of jobs lost.
