According to an article on CNN, John McCain has proposed a $300 million award to anyone who can develop a better battery that improves on current technology.

CNN also has video footage of McCain's speech.

that's a huge sum. there are sure to be eager inventors and scientists who would be interested in doing that.

That's politically wrong, I read the article and burst out to laughter. A section of the government should be incharge of such project and I think McCain knows what he's doing.
