This really shows what NAM is...a lobbying group for business. This isn't all that bad, but they are like most US business people...short sighted.

I recently heard a NAM speaker and heard them duck the health care issue...puts US manufacturers at a disadvantage but NAM supports the current inefficient system.

They ducked the question of illegal aliens...helps hold down American workers wages.

They ducked the alternative energy question...they support more drilling and indirectly abdicate development of alternative fuels and fuel systems to non-US manufacturers.

(For a good laugh, read their blogs about global warming. It is denial central...even though just about everyone else (even President Bush) thinks that it is a problem of some degree. They even miss the point about the manufacturing related potential for new/clean fuels and technology.)

It is great to see such great vision within one organization. We all can sleep much better at night, knowing that NAM is out there, leading American manufacturers to mediocrity.

NAM seems to be only a mouthpiece to forward corporate interest and parrot administration policies- they really seem to have nothing to do with creating policy that will actually help US manufacturers, like relieving the healthcare burden, educating the future workforce, tax and other govt policies that encourage keeping and creating US jobs rather than encouraging offshoring, renogiating trade agreements and treaties to include intellectual property right protection, environment and safety enforcement and child and coerced labor - or basically turning the free trade at all costs policies into fair trade policies.

Yes how true hippies, tree huggers and save the whale type people have influenced the average voter, so even polititions are saying they believe in it, when your voters seem to, it could as un pc as inviting a Japenese whaleing expedition into your countrys waters.

Becasue it has to do with the enviroment...when the evidence is very weak.

Bush does not believe in it...

Find politicians that will vote for the Fair Tax and elect them! The Fair Tax will abolish the IRS and lobbying will go away. No more paycheck withholdings either. There will be no opportunity to give tax breaks to certain groups and organizations like NAM will become irrelevant. SERIOUSLY! Check out www.fairtax.org and vote for change!
