At one time, we shut down for a week in August for maintaince on the machines. A full maintainence crew worked during the shutdown. Then we added some machinists to handle hot jobs, Each year we increased the amount of people coming in during shutdown,
Finally, two years ago, we eliminated the (1) week shutdwon to be able to handle customer requirements.

Gamvogt, what industry are you in? Do you find it's pretty common within your industry for plants to keep operating all summer long?
