So, 20-odd years after AT&T's breakup, in a brave new world of competition, we see... AT&T UNbreaking up, reassembling itself bit by bit like some telecom cyborg. I think it's fair to ask if we would have seen so much innovation in communications over the past 2 decades without the breakup... and also fair to ask whether the Reassmbly of AT&T matters, what with VOIP and other technologies. Is there a role for a Ma Bell in the 21st century?
